If you are unfamiliar with golf course maintenance practices or equipment or would like to be better informed, this boot camp is for you. Attendees will be divided in to two groups and will spend time on the golf course as well as at the maintenance facility. 1:00pm | Box Lunch - Brian Koffler came to Waverley in 2010 after being the superintendent at the Olympic Club (Lakeside Course and the 9-Hole Course) in San Francisco. He also worked at the Cypress Point Club, Shinnecock Hills Golf Club and Pebble Beach Golf Links. Brian grew up in Heppner, Oregon beginning his career at Pendleton Country Club in Pendleton, Oregon and The Golf Club at Newcastle in Newcastle, Washington. He graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Horticulture and Turf Management.
- Chris Gaughan has been the superintendent at Eugene Country Club for over 25 years and on the payroll there for almost 44 years. He is retiring in June 2018. He worked one year each at Monterey Peninsula CC and Oswego Lake CC. He caddied on the LPGA for 3 years. He has a sister that was a pro for over 35 years including 10 years playing on the LPGA. She is currently the women’s golf coach at Georgia State. His brother in law was also a GM for over 35 years at multiple country clubs all over the country. As you can guess there was a lot of shop talk about the country club business at family functions. He has worked alongside 8 different GMs and 9 different pros over his tenure. He is a Duck(finance) and Beaver (turfgrass management) with over 100 hours of continuing education at GCSAA seminars.
